Occupy Your Weekend

Looking for something to occupy your weekend? We've got you covered.

Occupy The WeekendThis has been a busy week for Occupy-related activities in the Ann Arbor area, with the march on Governor Snyder’s mansion on Monday, the new Occupy Ann Arbor refocus meeting on Tuesday, and the Occupy the State of the State protest and nationwide site blackouts protesting SOPA on Wednesday. But if you’re busy during the week – or just want more – fear not, there are plenty of activities this weekend. On Friday evening there’s a brief Solidarity Protest Against Citizens United, in acknowledgement of the two long years since corporations became people. If you’re a people, feel free to stop by and learn what we can do about stopping non-people from having the same rights we do. You can also download a flier HERE (PDF, 82KB). On Saturday there’s Occupy for the Future of Democracy, a day-long seminar/teach-in presented by Occupy Ann Arbor, Occupy UM, and the Washtenaw Community Action Team. This would be a great time and place to both learn about the Occupy movement and activism, and network with people from local Occupy groups. And on Sunday is the fourth Occupy UM General Assembly.
